A Team Reunited

I completed all twelve covers for this series written by the legendary Terrance Dicks and published by Brenda Gardner, the founder and owner of Piccadilly Press. She was the children’s and Doctor Who Target book editor at W H Allen when I first worked for them in 1979. I began to work with Brenda again in the 1980s on a number of book titles and in the mid nineties she approached me to work on the Unexplained, reuniting myself with her and Terrance Dicks – I had painted over twenty covers for his Doctor Who books in the 1980s and 90s. The books are simply written and have an X-file feel, featuring aliens and the paranormal.

The series covers suffered from erratic design. Orchard books took up two of the titles and commissioned me to do a new and more appropriate cover for the first title. I also provided the cover for Jonathan’s Ghost: Spitfire Summer, A Spine-chilling Trilogy (1997).
